Overeating means consuming more food/calories than your body can use. A calorie is a measurement of food energy. Overeating occurs when you eat past your comfort level. It is the only possible way you can put on extra weight and get fat.
Undereating is the opposite of overeating. Undereating means consuming fewer calories than your body needs for daily maintenance. Undereating is the only way you can lose fat and get lean.
Promoters and advertisers use pseudo-scientific language to trick you into undereating, while making you think that it's their special foods and supplements that are decreasing the size of your fat cells. This is magical thinking. Eventually, food restrictions grow old and tiresome, and the overeating and excess weight return. Fact is, if you burn 2,000 calories in a 24-hour period and consume only 1,000 calories of anything (ice cream, burgers & fries, etc.), you will lose fat big time.
Hunger is an empty, nagging feeling in the belly, different from appetite, which is the mental desire to eat. Hunger is Nature's way of motivating and preparing lean & healthy animals and humans to go to work - to secure food in the wilderness. Fat people and animals are prepared for winter hibernation and never feel hunger. If you never feel hunger, you need to know that there are no "healthy" foods for you. "Healthy foods and unhealthy foods" is just a marketing ploy.
